FAQs

What is Microblading?

Microblading is a semi-permanent eyebrow procedure that is carried out by a qualified technician using a disposable hand-tool and disposable microblade. It has been rated the number one method for eyebrow grooming. These tiny microblades are so small that they are able to create small feather weight hairstrokes which can mimic real brow hair. Celebs such as Gwyneth Paltrow, Mila Kunis, Adele and Megan Fox to name a few have all opted for easier mornings and wake up to brows everyday! Now wouldnt that be nice?

Is Microblading like a tattoo?

Tattooing is defined as ink or pigment which stays in the skin overtime, therefore yes it is still classed as a tattoo, the only thing that determines how we get the colour under the skin and how long it stays is the method in which we apply. Here at Allure we use both a quiet digital tattoo machine and microblades. Tattooing has been practiced for many centuies. The oldest tattoo was discovered on a mummy, back then they used a mallet and a fishbone to implant dyes derived from sources such as plants and charcoal into the skin - Ouch! Overtime we have learnt there are safer ways of doing this one of them being through a needle cartridge or microblading.

How does Microblading Work?

The pigment is deposited safely into the superficial dermis of the skin by making small scratches with the pigment which allows the technician to create bespoke, crisp hair strokes which look like natural eyebrow hair.

How does it differ from semi permanent tattooing?

Microblading differs from conventional semi-permanent tattooing by the very fact that it is a manual procedure. When using a hand held microblade, the colour is deposited closer to the surface than when a machine is used leaving very fine and crisp hair strokes. However if your skin is not suitable for Microblading due to oily skin and large pores then the digital machine method (nano hairstrokes) will be better suited to you as there as much more staying power when the machine implants the hairstrokes under the skin.

Who can have Microblading?

Anyone can have this procedure aslong as the skin is healthy we can check this for you at your consutation. Worth noting with all semi-permanent makeup procedures it is our responsibility to make sure that there are no contraindications to treatment. If there is a medical condition we can clear this with the doctor prior to treatment. REMEMBER: We have your best interests in mind and will not treat you if there is a risk of compramising your health.

How long does the pigmentation last?

Like all procedures your cosmetic makeup will fade overtime and therefore require colour boosts that start from £90. Microblading tends to last between 1-2 years and after this period of time you will need a colour boost to freshen the hairstrokes and colour up.

Does it hurt?

A question asked by many, however everyone has different tolerences to pain, some find it uncomfortable whilst others dont feel a thing. You may apply some topical anaesthetic for comfort 1 hour before you come into clinic which can be purchased over the counter from your local chemist. This can be topped up throughout the procedure making it relatively painless.

How much does it cost?

Microblading is charged at £295.00 which includes consultation, initial procedure, an after care package and a refresh colour boost after 4-6 weeks. FIRST VISIT & CONSULTATION: 30 mins
Before you decide whether or not to go ahead with semi-permanent make-up it is advised to have a consultation to make sure you are suitable for treatment and to discuss your goals and expectations, you may wish to to bring a picture of the look you desire.

You will be required to carry out a skin test 24 hours prior to your procure to ensure the products I use do not cause any adverse reactions. If you wish to proceed with booking a £45 non refundable deposit is required.

FIRST TREATMENT: 1.5 hours
Once the consultation forms have been filled in and you will confirm the terms of your treatment and the treatment will begin. The form will also commit you to maintaining the aftercare regime required to keep your new look fresh and beautiful.

Once you are happy with the shape, style and colour, this may take time however it will take as long as it needs to so we can get it perfect, we will then proceed with the treatment. You will then leave with all questions answered and with your aftercare kit.

SECOND TREAMENT: Approx 1 hour
4-6 WEEKS LATER
Your follow up review appointment with your new cosmetic procedure is very important as the procedure is not deemed complete until this has been performed. It is necessary that a 2nd application of pigment is implanted into the skin, and without the 2nd application then the treatment is incomplete and will fade dramatically.
