What is Botox?
North East Cosmetics provides Botox to patients who are over 18 years old.
Botox, Botulinum Toxin is a neuromodulater which is a simple, safe and effective way to improve fine lines and deep wrinkles of the face. Botox works to relax facial muscles making lines and wrinkles, such as worry lines, crow's feet and frown lines, less obvious. Results of Botox are softer, younger and more rejuvenated appearance.
What happens at your Botox appointment?
As anti-wrinkle injections, Botox, are prescription only medicine (POM) a face to face consultation must be carried out by our independent nurse prescriber prior to an appointment, only then are you able to book your treatment. We will complete a full medical history to ensure your safe for treatment.
Having these injections might feel uncomfortable, but shouldn’t be painful.
The treatment usually takes 5 minutes but your appointment will last around 25 minutes, depending on the area being treated.
Afterwards
The affected area may be a bit red and sore to touch. Any swelling or bruising should settle down in a matter of days.
You should will be advised about what to do to help reduce the risk of side effects.
This includes not wearing make-up immediately after the procedure and avoiding alcohol, exercise, lying flat for 8 hours and avoiding excessive facial expressions.
